WAYNE COUNTY · SALEM TOWNSHIP · LAKE WALLENPAUPACK
Indian Rocks is a private four-season community in Salem Township, Wayne County, located at the southern end of Lake Wallenpaupack. The community was established in 1955 when four families from the Lansdale-Schwenksville area of Pennsylvania purchased 546 acres from Pennsylvania Power and Light Company to develop a lakeside community for vacation, recreation, and retirement. Today it has approximately 490 homes on 1,383 lots, with roughly 920 property owners, and is managed by a Certified Manager of Community Associations working under the direction of the Board of Directors.
Indian Rocks has no lakefront homes — the community does not directly border Lake Wallenpaupack on a residential basis. However the association holds access to two beaches on Lake Wallenpaupack and manages community docking on the lake, available to members upon availability. The community is within minutes of Interstate 84 and the broader northern Pocono recreational corridor including Lake Wallenpaupack commercial activities, Hawley, and the Pocono Mountains northern attractions.
